IronmeltFight for GAIA

Earth is waiting.

Build your battle bot block by block. Watch it get shot apart piece by piece. Learn from the wreck — and build it better. Fight as a drone operator of Aurora to take back Earth.

Windows may say the launcher is from an unknown publisher: choose “More info” → “Run anyway”.

The Game

You are the engineer AND the pilot.

Every build decision matters: where you place your core, how you protect your movement parts, where you mount your weapons. Damage happens physically, block by block — with chain reactions, parts breaking off, and a spectacular collapse when the core goes down. Your bot, your fault, your triumph.

Features

Destruction is the spectacle.

No hidden health bars, no fake damage. What you build is exactly what gets shot at.

True Block Damage

Every block has its own health. Hits chain into neighbouring blocks, cut-off parts break away and fall, and losing your core means watching your whole bot come apart.

Deep Building

Grid-based construction with mirror mode, real connection logic and advanced armor techniques. Where a block is attached decides how damage travels through your bot.

Wheels, Hover, Rotors & Thrusters

Four ways to move, each with its own feel: grippy wheels with suspension and a drift handbrake, terrain-hugging hover pads, rotors that lift you off the ground, and thrusters for raw push. Mix them on one bot if you dare.

Energy Warfare

Your core is your power plant. Unload everything in one devastating plasma salvo, keep up sustained laser fire, snipe with the railgun or spin up a gatling — or keep your team alive with the repair gun. Every weapon is a build choice.

Battletower · Online

Two teams of five fight for the towers. Hit QUICK JOIN to play online on our dedicated server — empty slots are filled with AI bots built from the same parts you use, so every match is full.

Fair by Design

Combat power is never for sale. Bigger, stronger bots are earned by playing, never bought — and matches are balanced by bot size, so victory comes down to how you build and how you pilot.

Story

A war for a broken Earth.

Earth is lost — abandoned by humanity, claimed by machines. Two factions now fight for what remains. Unlike the classics that inspired it, Fight for GAIA gives every match a reason: a place on the ruined Earth, a faction, and a campaign to fight for.

Aurora

The reclaimers. As one of Aurora's drone operators, you build and pilot combat bots in the fight to take Earth back — mission by mission, ruin by ruin.

Umbra

The machine army that stands in your way. Relentless, adaptive, and holding every strategic point on the planet. Their bots come apart just like yours — if you shoot well enough.

The Promise

Combat power is never for sale. Progression gives you options, not advantages. A story campaign and co-op you can enjoy solo or with friends — no dead lobbies, no matchmaking hamster wheel.

Development

Devlog

Fight for GAIA is an indie game in active development. Here's what's new — the long version lands on Discord first.

Meltdown, a new Battletower and a new video

October 10 – 12
  • New video. Pretty much every part in the game, a six-wheeled rover built from scratch, and a very short test drive — watch it above.
  • MELTDOWN. A new survival mode: alone at the bottom of a crater against fifty enemy bots, and every destroyed enemy is replaced at the rim. Survive as long as you can — every kill earns credits.
  • Battletower, rebuilt. Each team now charges its tower: holding towers fills three rings of modules around your base. If the enemy shield is down, sneak in and steal their glowing modules. First to full charge wins.
  • Clearer matches, smoother online. A minimap, a match bar with both teams’ charge and a kill feed — and other bots move much more smoothly over the internet.
  • Playtest focus. For now, classes C1 to C3 are open. C4, C5 and modules are coming later.

Graphics, sound and a new map on the way

October 8 – 10
  • Sound. A new sound mix with separate sliders for music, effects and interface. The Gatling audibly spins up before it fires, the laser rings out after a volley, drives hum electrically and weapon turrets whir as they turn.
  • Graphics. Grass now grows around the hangar and moves in the wind — set its density in the graphics options. Shield Blades replace the old plates: their energy shield shows hits as ripples and recharges over time.
  • Smoother in big fights. We hunted down short hitches, like the moment a tower is captured or when lots of bots start driving at once.
  • Play through the launcher. The game now comes through the Ironmelt launcher, which keeps it up to date on its own.
  • What’s next. A new and better map. Graphics and sound work continues — step by step.

Towers, teammates and our own server

September 26 – October 8
  • Battletower. The first real game mode: two teams of five fight for towers in the desert. Shoot down every solar module on a tower and it’s yours — a hydraulic arm raises its panel and beams power to your base. Hold towers to keep your shield up, bring down the enemy reactor to win.
  • Playing together. First on your home network, now over the internet: our own server is up, and QUICK JOIN drops you straight into a round. Empty slots are filled with bots, so every round is full.
  • Smoother. Driving physics and parts of the enemy logic now run in faster code, and a single setting brought the biggest jump. Plus sun shadows and softer terrain transitions.
  • Driving and weapons. The smallest wheel has visible, working suspension and steering, hover pads and thrusters were rebuilt, and the Gatling is back in all five classes. The Repair Gun is back, too.
  • What’s next. Work goes on every day, often right down to the details. The Ghost module is already in the works, and more modules will follow.

One weapon, built by hand

September 24–25
  • A proper pipeline. Every weapon is now built in CAD from named parts — base, neck, head, barrel, muzzle — and touched up by hand. Clean, symmetrical, and easy to change later.
  • The Gatling is the first. Bigger, with a barrel cluster that spins up as it fires and a muzzle flash that’s a little different every shot. It now fires real, fast projectiles you can follow with your eye.
  • Nowhere to hide underneath. It drops its barrel almost to its own base, so an enemy creeping in close is no longer safe.
